"Our first time dining here and we will definitely be back. We feel like we’ve found the best kept secret in Brisbane. We both had steak frites with bearnaise and Roquefort sauces which was possibly the best we’ve ever had. Service was excellent and we loved the atmosphere which reminded us of a bistro we went to in suburban Paris. We can’t wait to try their other dishes."

"I really loved the atmosphere and overall layout of the space. The tables are positioned in a way that gives you your own area to talk without feeling like you are sitting on top of other diners. It felt private and comfortable. The staff were extremely professional, and I also enjoyed seeing the locals and team interacting so naturally — it created a relaxed vibe. The food was good, but I was expecting a little more given the hype. The bread appetiser was a standard baguette served cold, and the butter was fairly average — nothing particularly unique or memorable. Unfortunately, our cutlery was not clean, which was disappointing. Dessert was the biggest letdown. The pastry itself was well made, but the flavour combination of hazelnut ice cream, caramel and apple did not quite work. The apple lacked flavour, the hazelnut ice cream leaned toward a bitter nuttiness rather than sweetness, and the caramel sauce tasted overly bitter — almost burnt. As a result, the overall dish came across as quite bitter rather than balanced. I could not finish it. The main course was good, and overall it is still a nice place to visit. Was it worth trying? Yes. Are we rushing back? Probably not - but I can understand why people enjoy it."

"What a beautiful night at Le Cache au Vin French Restaurant! I went for my birthday with my mum and son and we had an absolutely wonderful evening. From the outside Le Cache au Vin looks unassuming… like a simple office building… but once you step inside it feels like entering a beautiful rustic cave somewhere in France… with dim lights, and stone walls lined with bottles of wine. The atmosphere is very warm, relaxed and elegant. The tables are well spaced out to provide a feeling of dining intimacy, yet still interconnected with a room full of cheerful diners enjoying their meals at other tables. We felt like we were in our own private dining bubble… yet the unobtrusive sounds of enjoyment of others in the room really added to our beautiful experience. From the moment we walked in the door the service was impeccable. They addressed us by name, acknowledged my birthday, took our coats, engaged in friendly conversation and led us to the table. The wait staff were appropriately attentive with no question or request being too much trouble. And I love that all the staff are French! We started by sharing the Prawn and Basil Spring Rolls, which were divine! Followed by the Escargot…. delicate and absolutely delicious. Then we each enjoyed a Cheese Soufflé… which was a rich creamy taste sensation. The flavour and texture was absolutely amazing. Our mains were, Beef Bourginon with honey glazed carrots and mash, Red Emperor with artichokes, and The Confit of Duck with honey and raisins and white cabbage. Each meal was beautifully prepared… cooked to perfection… and presented in traditional French style. There were lots of “oohs” and “aaahs” sharing a taste of each others dish. Then for dessert we enjoyed Crème Brûlée, Apple Puff Pastry, and my son had a duo of icecream which brought a big smile to his face. Our experience went for well over three and a half hours. We really indulged in a lot of different dishes. Everything was well spaced out. Nothing was rushed. And our waiter flowed to the timing of our needs beautifully. We had such a wonderful night… a perfect way to celebrate my birthday with loved ones. This was my second time dining here… and the experience has been consistently exceptional. I’ll be sure to come back more often and will highly recommend to others. Thank you to all the staff for making my night so special. I couldn’t imagine a more enjoyable way to spend my birthday"

"An absolute gem! My partner and I finally had dinner at La Cache à Vin after wanting to try it for a long time, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we stepped in to the moment we left, everything was perfect. The beautiful, cave-style interior creates such a warm and intimate atmosphere. The service was great, our waitress Linda was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. We shared the prawn and basil spring roll and the foie gras to start, both full of flavour. We then shared the cheese soufflé au Kirsh and the homemade duck rillettes as entrées following by the roasted lamb rack and chicken ballotine and every dish was executed flawlessly We also finished with a crème brûlée that was just divine This has been our best french dining experience in Australia so far, even my partner who is a professional chef and very picky, was impressed. A solid 10/10 in every aspect. We will definitely be back"
